Bank

I’m a bank that has a lot of money in it which makes me happy. But each day people come and take money away from me that makes me sad. But on the other hand people come and put money in me. But I find out later that they come back and take that money back. Which I don’t like because they are stealing my money from me. Being a bank is fun but people steal money from you which makes it a bad life and you can’t do anything about it. Sometimes I wish that I had a different life because you see all this money come in and I keep it safe for you and I get nothing for doing it. So being a bank is a good job because of all the money but on the other hand it is bad because of the things that I do and get nothing back for it.   

The Lottery

Author note: this is about symbols and their roles in a story.

Have you ever thought about the lottery? When I think about I think about something good.  But in the story "The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson it’s not. It is the opposite of what you think. What happen is that there is dot on a paper and a family member goes up and picks a paper and if there the family that gets it. There family draws again until someone in their family get and it and that person dies. 

There are a lot of symbols such as the rock. How they are symbols is that when you think of little boys play with rock you think that everything is good and nothing is going to happen. But when you read on you find out that they use the rocks for killing someone. Another one is the black box where they put the piece of paper and the one with a dot on it. How it is a symbol is that it pick who is going to die and who is not. It also show that people are scared of it and care about it is that they don’t want to change it they want to keep it the same as it all way was.

A symbols in a story can be good and can bad like it the lottery the two that I talk about were bad. But in other story they could be good just depending on what the story is about and what the author is try to teach you.

Birthday card

I'm a birthday card and I cant wait till  I see my owner of me. I look like very color with all the bright color on the outside saying happy birthday. Also with great big letters saying happy birthday. I also like when some open me and I see there face and how happy they're.  I love to be birthday card

Nailer vs Samuel

Nailer vs Samuel

Author notes: this is about the main character in the two books woods runner and ship breaker and how they are the same and different.

Have you ever thought about how to character from two different books could be the same. Like Samuel from the book Woods Runner and Nailer from the book Ship Breaker. These are two different people that wrote these books and the books are a lot different. But the many character are very much the same and are somewhat different.

Who is Nailer? He is the main character form the book Ship Breaker. This is about a crew which Nailer is in and they do to ship that are rundown and take all things that they can use for something else.  And Woods Runner is about a boy where he out hunting and the British come and take his parents. He has to go out and find them.

How Nailer and Samuel are the same is that they are both brave. How Nailer is the brave is that he go in the ship where the he does not know what is there and can get him hurt. Like in the book when he is getting copper out of boast and hits this part and all the oil fill where he is. He think how he can get out of this and not think about dying. How Samuel is brave is that he has to finds his parent by himself and a little help from other people. Some other ways how they are the same is that they are smart Nailer is smart is because he found the way out of the oil and did not die. How Samuel smart is that he was able to track the British and get his parents back without getting that hurt.  

How Nailer and  Samuel is different is that Samuel has to live by himself. Because he left his dads crew and went to a different one. And Samuel could but he had to go and get his parents. Also how they are different is that Samuel like his parents and will do anything for them. Like in the book he went and look for them and made sure that they were not hurt. But Nailer does  not like his dad because he was treat bad when he was a kid.

Two different people from and different book, but they can be the same if you just think about. It not all was the setting but the traits that the character has. So think about that then you try to compare and contrast two different people.

Cloning

They’re many reasons for cloning some good or bad depends on how you look at it. Many people don’t know what cloning is use for and why people would want to clone something.  Or what is cloning and how it is done and we can get back from it.

             What is cloning? Basically it is taking some things such as an animal or something that has DNA and makes a copy of that animal. Scientists have been cloning animals for many years. In 1952, the first animal, a tadpole, was cloned. Before the creation of Dolly, the first mammal cloned from the cell of an adult animal, clones were created from embryonic cells. Since Dolly, researchers have cloned a number of large and small animals including sheep, goats, cows, mice, pigs, cats, rabbits, and a gaur (Human Genome Project Imforation , 2009). Scientists have not been able to clone a human yet. But many animals have been cloned  which can help humans out in many ways.

            How Cloning can help humans out it that if we clone animals so that some animals many never die off. There will be an endless supply of animals to clone, and we will never run out of food from animals, because we have been able to clone based on previous efforts of cloning (Advantages and disadvantages of animal cloning , 2009). Cloning is good things because we can bring back animals that have died off. We could have big supply of meat form animals. Cloning animals could help out scientists in cloning a human. One of the greatest breakthroughs of all time, cloning has been discovered, something which could be revolutionary if we use it to our advantage through continuing on with our research and studies into it, with discoveries that could change our lives forever (Advantages and disadvantages of animal cloning , 2009). 

            Some of the disadvantages for cloning is that the animals could have hurt or kill the animals. The meat from the animal could be bad, but you could do something about that. It will only possess about half the life span of the  normal animal which has been cloned. An example is from the famous ‘Dolly’  previous mentioned which only lived for 6 years, whereas normal sheep can live up to about 10 years of age, so a great decrease in age (Advantages and disadvantages of animal cloning , 2009). These things could happen to the animal but maybe not if they keep trying to make cloning better and safer for the animals.

            Cloning has a lot of good things and bad things about it. But there is a lot of good things about it and more to come if we keep trying to clone something easier and more safe. We could get a lot of the disadvantages with we just keep trying. So cloning should be more thought about and work on so that it can get better.

What Could Have Happened

Author Note: this is about what could have happen if Samuel didn't look or his parents

They’re many books that I have read and one of the top ones that I have read is “Woods Runner”. This is about a 13 year old boy that lives in a wood with his mom and dad. His parents are taking by the red cost one day and his search for them. This is about what would have happen if he didn’t find them.

First what could have happen is that later in his life he finds parents later in life. They could be totally different and hate their son. How this can affect his life is that he can get depress and hate him for not going and looking for them. He could be happy that found them but he doesn’t care because he live almost without them. That can be couple of things that could have happen.

What else could have happen to him is that he would never have found them and found out that they were dead. When he finds that out he can get very mad or sad and start doing things to people or himself. Or he tries to start a new life because he gets pass them. Many other things could have happen this is just a couple of them.

Lastly what could have happen is that his parents get away from the red coats and his mom and dad go on the search for him. His could be good because he just a kid and he might run into something that he doesn’t know how to fix or get himself out of. But on the other hand it could be good because he is a very good in the wood and how to make sure that no one’s see him and what he can eat and drink. They both are good but I think that he should have look for them like in the book. And he should have look for his parents unlike this piece what could have happen if he does look for them.

“Woods Runner” was a good book and many parts of the books I think that the book could have gone a different way them it did. Which made it such a good book. Also it good that he want and look for his parents and nothing happen to him or his parents.

What the author is trying to do is in both of them is that they are trying to make you feel bad. for taking all the things that they like away from them and making them wish that they could be happy to see it. The mood and tone in the big yellow taxi is that they want you to think that they are sad and bad for talking it and that’s for the mood and the tone for it is sad and making you feels bad just like the mood. The field bellow is the same which make you want to go and see nature and not say in the city. Where it makes you think that it is a bad place to be.

How the mood and tone is different from the poem. Is that first of all the song the tone is happy and in the poem is like sad. Which is a lot different than I thought it would be. For the field below it makes you feel the same that you took all things away from her and making her thinks that city is such a bad place to go. And the song is the same thing makes you feel bad that you took this away from them. Unlike the big yellow taxi you fell happy in the song and not the poem which is like the field below.
