City Of Ember
Author note: This is a predicting piece and what would happen to Doon and Lina on earth.
How would you like life where you live in a cave? You have a limited amount of food and just light bulbs and candles for light. But you think of a way to get out of the city and try to get out of the cave. You and your friend find a river and get things that you will need to live. Then you go down the river. Next you find a gate and open and you’re in a place at has a great big light in the sky and there are of lot of things that you have never seen before this. This is like the book the "City of Ember" by Jeanne DePaul and how people live under ground with no light from the sun. But people get out and try to start a new life on earth.
First think about starting a new life in a place that you have never been to or even have heard of it. This is what happens to Doon and Lina for the book the "City of Ember". Doon and Lina are the two man characters in the book. and which in my point of view they are the smartest people in the book. Because they are the only people to ever get of ember. What I think might happen to them when they get to earth is that they might not know what they are doing. They might get hurt kill them, or someone. They could do the opposite and have a great life out on earth. Find people and live with them and learn how they live. Also tell about people of ember and they might help them get out of ember. Why I think this because Doon and Lina where the only people to get out of ember without knowing how to get out. They had to find their way out and plan and get everything and leave friends and family back at ember.This shows that Doon and Lina are very smart people.
Why I think that something bad will happen to them is that they don’t know what is out there in the new place. They don't know what is good that could save them or what is bad and could hurt them. Also they don’t even know where they are and what they’re getting them self into. What I think would happen to them even if they didn’t find the path out of ember. Is that the lights would go out and people would start to get mad at each other. They would run out of food and people would even forget that there were people down there. That just a few of things that could happen if one thing were different in, the book
What I think would have happen if Doon and Lina told about what they found the river and all the boats. A lot of people would be happy because they found a way out of ember. Maybe a new place to start a new life and live a happy life because they are in place that doesn’t need light because it has a sun for light. Some of the bad things are that people would rush and try too much of one thing and don’t leave anything for anyone else. Which could drive people crazy and they could try to hurt other people to get the things that they have. That is some of the things that could happen if just one thing was different in the city of ember.
By just changing one thing can affect the book a lot how people think what could happen. That thing could be good or bad or both depending on the person and how it affects that person or many people. This could make you like that person or hate that person and by changing one thing can be big in the book.

Found A New Place
Author note: this is a letter from Doon to his Dad if he should come or not come to the new land.
Dad, Lina and I just found a new place. This new place that we found has one big light that comes and goes. Then a littler one comes up and it gets dark. We also found a book about people when they came to the City of Ember. Which has a lot of good things and how they got here and about this place to. Also when you come here if you do you can’t go back with the things that we have right now because the river is too strong to go back up it. There are a lot of great things in this new place such as that it has great colors that are very bright here. I have a lot of question about this place because haven’t see any things here.
There are some reasons why I think that you shouldn’t come here. One is that I know, if more people are going to come and make life bad here. because they could be mean and take all things that you need to get here. Also I don’t know if there are things here like food, water, homes or even people here. But I think there are a lot more reason why you should come here. Like that we can start a new life, and I don’t think this place needs lights bulbs to get light. Also it does get dark here by just when the big yellow thing goes down and a not so bright smaller comes up. Also if there is food here it look like that there would a lot more than we had in ember. They could also have food here that we have never even seen or tasted before.
Dad. I hope that you can come and join me and Lina on the new land. They’re great new things here that I would have never thought about it in Ember. Just think about this we can start all over with this new land and maybe there is people here that already have started a new place. We could follow them and trust them to take care of us and show us how they live here.

Working Underground
Author Note: this is about how something can look like brave or something like that but is is not
"City of Ember" is about is that is about a city that has no light just light from light bulbs at are about to go out. And there are two kids Lina and Doon the main character and there are they got their jobs and they wanted to switch jobs because they got each other jobs that they went. And Doon wants to be a pipeline work do he can be underground. And try to fix the lights and that where the quote came from.
“Be brave I told myself. I kept going and going but of a sudden I thought about how there could be a 1,000 feet hole or big rats” said Doon. What this explains is that is tells you how it was scary for him in the tunnels. Also it tells more about Doon and how he can look brave but can be scary at other times.
The quote is such a good quote because when I was reading the book. I thought that Doon was a mean guy and many people didn’t want to talk to him. But when he said this it made me think that me gets scared to. It also it makes you think about how that Job would be like if you had to work down underground and would have to think about it every day when you are at work. There are a lot more good quotes in the book but this one just stood out more than the other. And that why I think it is such a good quote because of all the meaning behind it.

Author Note: this is about the character Doon and his effect on book.
The character that I’m going to talk about is Doon from the book "The City Of Ember". He is one of the main characters in the book. What role he plays in the book is that he wants to be a pipeline worker but his friend gets it and she got the one that she wants so they trade. Why he wants to be a pipeline work is because all of the lights in the city are about to go at any time and he thinks he know how he can fix the lights and save the city from the darkness. What impact he might have on other characters is that he might want to become friends with Lina because they got mad at each other and didn’t want to be friends any more. Dead Man's Path
Dead Man Path
Author Note: this is about cause and effect and how you should think about what you are going to do before you do it.
In the story "Dead Man's Path" there is a new headmaster that comes into the school. He wants to change the school and make it the best school. He wants the school to look the best that it could be. He and his wife went and got flowers and other things and put them all around the school to make it look the best it could. So one day he saw some person one a path that went through the school yard. He got very mad at the person and said that he was going to close the path, which he did. A couple of day later the village leader came and told him, he should let people go through or bad things are going to happen. Why this path was bad to close because it was the only path that the villagers could use to get to their burial ground. He still didn’t open it for the villagers so the next day when they got to the school all the flowers and things were killed that they put around the school and part of the school was tore down. This made the school look very bad.
Some of the main problems in the story "Dead Man's Path" are that the headmaster didn’t let the people go through the path. Why this happen is all because he didn’t let the villagers use that path to go to the burial grounds. They got mad and did all that to the school to try to make him open the path for them. What they did to the school was that they went and killed all of the flowers and tore down part of the school.
Just because he didn’t let them go through the school yard to get to their burial grounds. What they saw was a school that did not look that good and he thought that it was not good for people to go to school. And the school board closes down the school and fires the headmaster because of how the school looks. All because he didn’t open a path for people to just walk down and do nothing else.
What I thought he should have done is to just let them just go through the school yard. Why I think that they should do that is because nothing would happen to him. Also because this is how those people live and you are taking something away from them that they need. If I want to this school I would be fine with this because they are doing nothing bad. But he didn’t like what he saw and try to change something that he couldn’t change.
"Dead Man’s Path" teaches a great lesson because he shows that when you try to changes something you can’t all ways do it. Because there are many people that might like it and they don’t want that to get change or it is something that they lived by. You should always think about something that you are going to do because the outcome might not be what you might think it will be.
